Long time since i posted here some news/feedback. No internet at SPCC for now, but next month we will have a connection. Hopefully, the other residents will be following and participating in this blog as well.
Overall it's going fine. I'm now working on level 2, working on the chill out/library area. My idea is to recycle as much as possible, so i can design and create the furniture and decor.
For now i have:
- two tables made out of a car, in a beautifull red color. Some confy seats that L and A recycled in Bairro Alto. Part of a lamp structure to hold the books on the red table, and transparent plastic sphere that i found near by. I found 2, but the other one is for my room to make a fish tank with light.
- Some "puffy-seats" made out of big transparent plastic bags, filled up with pieces of styrofoam that me and J recycled in Pingo Doce (supermarket)
I'm also planning on doing some more decor with fabrics in the sealing to give more environment and sense of confyness. If we lower the sealing it feels more confortable. So i'm planning to cross fabrics in the sealing. Beautiful and colorful fabrics. Also, i'm planning on some mobiles to hang here and there. But not sure yet. I need to finish the design, witch is difficult to plan all in the paper, because most of my creativity comes when i'm working in the place, handling with the objects.
Also, we have a fucking über-cool bathtub! J and i went to the supermarket one day, and we saw in a construction site a almost brand new bathtub. We asked some guys that where there working if we could take it, and they told us to drop by the day after in the morning. So we did, and got the bathtub.
About my creativity and about building stuff in the squat, i'm pretty happy with it. I feel extremely accomplished in that field. Although, i can't say the same about the intellectual challenge that i always like to have around me. I'm missing the great and interesting conversations after dinner, and i can't wait to host people either from couchsurfing or helpex. I think the house will gain way more life. Although, most people are working more, i sense that the ambient could be more healthier. Basic stuff are a reason to fight in that house, frowns and personal issues are a constant. I don't give a shit to this kind of stuff usually. But now and since we have a lot of that coming from every sides, it's getting me tired. Although every now and then i try to speak with the guys and try to motivate them and try to understand what's happening anyway. And the most important, despite the fact that i'm feeling tired of this, things are getting done and pretty cool, and i'm happy with the results.
This week i hope i will finish the basic and necessary stuff for the chill out. And next month, on the first weekend i will get the rest of the fabrics for the rooms and some others for the chill out.
When i have the opportunity i'll post some cool photos with the latest improvements!
